If you have heard that learning violin for beginners is an easy task, that is quite wrong. It isn’t easy, but it isn’t that hard as well, I have to say. When I started 23 years ago, I was young. A 5 year old boy with a brain that was more like a sponge. Everything I put myself to do, I did it. I still don’t know how for kids can be so easy! Anyway, I’m saying that not trying to discourage you, but to make things clear. You’re not going to play the violin overnight. That is impossible. The truth has to be said. Play violin for beginners require some effort, using all tools available (like violin lessons for beginners), you can make it! That’s for sure!
The main purpose of this post is to chat little about violin for beginners and how to start it in the right way. I’ll refer to my own experience as an example.
In the first month, I dove into musical theory. Imagine for a 5 year old kid. It was boring, to say the least. But I have to admit that it was fundamental for my progress. I got to know the meaning for each of those ’symbols’, how can they be grouped, etc. All sorts of things that are important for a full understanding of what music for violin is and witch roll the violin has to play into all that. When I look back sometimes I feel that I could be doing something more practical like actually playing the violin. Maybe I should had, but at the end I realize that learning the basics made my life much easier. Why? Because as soon as I actually started playing with the violin, I was able to follow a great method, witch is crucial for learning and mastering the violin.
When I was ok with music theory, I start playing the first notes and thereafter, the first mistakes. Oh God! I wanted for so many times to quit! “Play the violin nevermore in my whole life”. It was a drama! It can be frustrating sometimes, you know! But don’t let that make you feel bad. It shall pass! Just keep on trying. The great violinists in the world felt the same thing in their early stages, but they kept on trying and learning in order to become what they are now. And I have to say: this is common for any skill you desire to have. Violin for Beginners is always hard, but as soon as you cross that board, that’s it! Life will become much easier!
The last thing, but not less important is: keep on practice. Simple as that! Within time you’ll be playing well and people will enjoy to see you performing. Patience is a virtue!
I hope you can see that Learning Violin is simple, but requires some effort. You only need to be patient and the journey will be great. When you get yourself at moments of giving up, just remember to get going and everything will be fine! You’ll see!
